When 99.99% of federal grand juries result in indictments in secret proceedings with no defense counsel present, that's not justice—that's a rubber stamp.
This personal experience drives my commitment to replacing grand jury proceedings with preliminary hearings before neutral judges. Justice should be transparent, fair, and subject to real oversight—not conducted in secret with predetermined outcomes.
